Dad Gives Intruders Hell – Only Half Get Out Alive

Firearms have been causing grief and pain for about a century now. However, just as they have the unfortunate ability to take lives, they can also protect them if placed in the right hands. And that is precisely why the United States includes them as part of our Second Amendment rights.

Take the example of a recent home invasion in Lacombe, Louisiana.

Here, four armed men entered the home of an unsuspecting father and his four-year-old daughter. The intent was likely just to rob the place of its valuables.

However, the family was not the only unsuspecting party involved. Upon finding the family at home, the situation was instantly made more dangerous, as the invaders now needed to fight for what they came for. Added to that were the loaded firearms each invader carried.

Luckily, as most states do, on some level, Louisiana allows the ownership of firearms for personal use and defense.

Just as the intruders surprised the father and his daughter, it didn’t take long for the father to turn the tables on his not so welcome house guests. He quickly brandished a weapon, and a gunfight ensued.

At the end of the shooting, two of the intruders – 25-year-old Renard Causey Jr. and 21-year-old Justin Hill – were dead. The other two, Renard Causey Sr. and Jason Leblanc, were still alive but injured and in serious need of a hospital.

Yes, that’s right. Apparently, two of the suspects were father and son.

Multiple reports also show that the four-year-old daughter was injured in the crossfire. However, unlike two of the suspects, it was not a severe injury, and she is expected to make a full and quick recovery.

As for the two living and now hospitalized suspects, they are quite obviously being held in handcuffs on charges of armed robbery and home invasion. However, they are also being charged with first-degree murder.

No, they didn’t pull the trigger that killed their companions, but in being accessories to the crime, they might as well have been. And in Louisiana, that’s all that matters.

A spokesperson from the St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s office told The Times-Picayune that because Causey Sr. and Leblanc’s criminal behavior resulted in the loss of life, even of their own partners, they are considered accomplices in their murder, per Louisiana law.

On the other hand, the homeowner was simply defending his home and family and, therefore, won’t be charged at all.

Sheriff Randy Smith told WGNO-TV, “While it is always tragic any time there is a loss of life, I am pleased that due to the rapid response time of our deputies, all parties that were involved in this isolated incident have been accounted for.”

Essentially, justice has been done.

It’s stories like these that prove exactly what the left is trying to disclaim, that guns can be used for good.

According to the political left and those like “Hell, Yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s” Beto O’Rourke, firearms in any occasion are an evil that needs to be eliminated from the world. Unless, of course, that occasion happens to be the security of a leftist politician.

This situation proves differently and precisely why guns are a necessity for American survivorship.

Let’s say guns were not allowed in the US or at least Louisiana. As a law-abiding citizen, the homeowner would not have a gun to protect himself or his little girl.

But don’t you think for a second that these intruders wouldn’t have access to the weapons. As the very name “criminal” implies, these men were not concerned with following the laws. They were breaking into a home, for heaven’s sake.

So what makes you think they would also obey a law that says no guns? Convicted criminals, according to current US law, are not allowed to have weapons. And yet, thousands and thousands are put back behind bars every year for that very reason.

It’s likely the only difference in this situation would have been that the homeowner wouldn’t have a comparable way to protect himself and his home.

And his isn’t the only circumstance that would have ended in tragedy if guns were banned from the public.

At the end of the day, gun violence is a nasty thing and something that we certainly want to avoid if we can. But that doesn’t mean taking what may be the only form of protection for law-abiding citizens out of their hands.

If anything, that will only increase the number of wrongful deaths.
