Trump Promises To Send Every American $2,000

President Donald Trump made a bold promise this week, vowing that every American—except high-income earners—will soon receive a $2,000 dividend as part of his expanding economic plan.

In a message shared on Truth Social, the president made clear where he stands on tariffs and what his policies are doing for the nation’s bottom line.

“People that are against Tariffs are FOOLS!” Trump wrote.

He continued by touting the country’s economic turnaround under his leadership. “We are now the Richest, Most Respected Country In the World, With Almost No Inflation, and A Record Stock Market Price. 401k’s are Highest EVER. We are taking in Trillions of Dollars and will soon begin paying down our ENORMOUS DEBT, $37 Trillion,” he said.

Trump went on to highlight record levels of investment and job creation across the country. “Record Investment in the USA, plants and factories going up all over the place. A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone,” he added.

The president’s message comes as the Supreme Court reviews arguments on whether his use of emergency powers to impose tariffs on imports is lawful. The case revolves around Trump’s decision to invoke the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, a 1977 law that grants presidents broad authority to act during national emergencies.

At stake is whether tariffs placed on trading partners, which Trump says are vital to defending American manufacturing and cutting trade deficits, fall under his legal authority.

Trump’s team argues the tariffs are necessary to protect the U.S. from unfair trade practices and to pressure foreign governments to help combat fentanyl smuggling. Supporters say the approach has restored leverage in global trade and brought manufacturing jobs back home.

Peter Navarro, Trump’s senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, said in a recent Breitbart interview that tariffs have proven to be one of the administration’s most powerful economic tools.

“What the president has swiftly done is make it very clear to the world, they’re not going to cheat us anymore,” Navarro said.

He added that the strategy has helped shrink the trade deficit while fueling record investment in American production.

The White House has credited the strong economy to Trump’s aggressive trade reforms and focus on energy independence. The administration says the U.S. is now producing more, exporting more, and relying less on foreign markets that once took advantage of American workers.

While critics have warned of potential price increases, Trump points to steady inflation and booming 401(k)s as proof that the strategy works. The president said the tariffs have strengthened the dollar, boosted factory growth, and generated billions in new revenue from foreign companies doing business in the U.S.

The proposed $2,000 payment, Trump said, would be drawn from that tariff revenue, effectively returning profits to the American people. The plan would exclude high-income earners and target middle-class households that have carried much of the economic burden in recent years.

A recent Economist/YouGov poll showed overwhelming support for Trump’s tariff policy among Republican voters. The data suggests a growing base of Americans who see tariffs not as punishment but as protection—especially when foreign competitors are forced to play fair.

The administration has not released a specific timeline for when the dividends will be distributed, but Trump indicated the rollout could begin soon after the next round of economic reports are finalized.

For now, the message from the Oval Office is clear: the era of unchecked global trade and American disadvantage is over—and this time, the American people will share in the profits.
