In an exclusive interview with Fox Noticias, President Donald Trump addressed one of the more controversial talking points from the Biden years—whether former First Lady Jill Biden acted as a behind-the-scenes force in her husband’s administration.
Fox Noticias host Rachel Campos-Duffy asked Trump directly if he believed Jill Biden was essentially acting as Joe Biden’s “autopen,” or a stand-in for the former president’s authority. Trump answered, “No, I don’t think so,” but he didn’t let the moment slide.
“She was certainly involved because he gave her the last meeting to preside over with the Cabinet,” Trump added, referencing the widely criticized September 2024 Cabinet meeting where Jill Biden was allowed to sit in and lead discussions.
That moment raised serious questions at the time about who was truly running the White House. For Trump, the answer goes well beyond Jill Biden.
“They had a lot of bad people. They had a lot of radical left lunatics in there, and I think he was perfect. He was perfect for them because he didn’t have a clue,” Trump said, laying blame on far-left operatives who, in his view, used Biden as a puppet to push their extremist agenda.
Concerns over Joe Biden’s mental acuity were well documented during his presidency, especially after his faltering debate performance in the summer of 2024. Many in the media and within his own party began to quietly question his fitness, but those concerns were largely brushed under the rug until after he left office.
Trump said what many Americans already suspected: Biden wasn’t the one in charge, and those who were used him to move radical policies past a sleeping public.
In contrast, Trump has made a point of highlighting his own health and mental sharpness. After his recent physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, he told reporters he was in “very good shape.”
“I’ve got a good heart, a good soul,” Trump said while aboard Air Force One. “Overall, I think I’m in very — I felt I was in very good shape.”
He also shared that he took a cognitive test during his checkup and passed it perfectly, taking a not-so-subtle jab at his predecessor. “Whatever it is, I got every one — I got it all right,” Trump said. “I’ve taken the cognitive test, I think, four times and I’ve gotten nothing wrong. That’s what the American people want.”
Then he dropped the real contrast: “Biden refused to take it, Kamala [Harris] refused to take it.”
That comment hits at the core of what many voters care about—competence, clarity, and strength in leadership. With a country facing unprecedented threats abroad and division at home, Americans can’t afford to be led by someone propped up by handlers.
Trump’s statements come as newly released books continue to paint a picture of a president in decline during his final year in office. But what they don’t fully expose, Trump makes clear: Biden’s role was to give the illusion of leadership while others made the real decisions.
Whether it was radical bureaucrats, progressive advisors, or even family members like Jill Biden, the result was the same—a hollow presidency manipulated by the far Left.
Trump’s assessment isn’t just a reflection on the past—it’s a warning for the future. The American people have seen what happens when leadership is handed off to a committee of unelected ideologues. And in 2025, they’re making it clear they want strength, clarity, and accountability back in the Oval Office.
