An Illegal Alien Stole $15 Million in Medicaid Money From Maine Taxpayers — And JD Vance Just Showed You the Receipt

Vice President JD Vance just stood up in front of a crowd and did something that Washington politicians almost never do — he named the grifter, named the state, and named the dollar amount. An illegal immigrant named Rakia Mohammed allegedly bilked Maine's Medicaid system out of $15 million over five years by claiming she was providing interpretation services she never actually performed. Vance called it exactly what it is: a heist.

Fifteen million dollars. Gone. Into the pockets of someone who wasn't supposed to be in the country in the first place. But sure, tell me again how we can't afford to secure the border.

Vance laid out the whole scheme in devastating detail, as reported by LifeZette. Mohammed claimed she was providing interpretation services to other immigrants through Medicaid reimbursements — a program that pays people to translate for non-English speakers in the healthcare system. "This woman, her name was Rakia Mohammed, and it turns out that Rakia Mohammed was not a particularly upstanding citizen," Vance said. That might be the understatement of the decade.

"So while she said that she was providing interpretation services, do you know what she was actually doing? Providing zero services and collecting the $15 million," Vance told the audience. Zero services. Not bad services. Not overpriced services. Zero. She allegedly filed the paperwork, cashed the checks, and laughed all the way to the bank for five straight years.

And when did this five-year shopping spree happen? Vance made sure everyone knew. "And that happened pretty much during the entirety of the Biden administration," he said. Of course it did. Because under Biden, the border was a suggestion and the benefits system was an open bar.

But here's the part that should make your blood boil. Vance asked the crowd a very simple question: "Why did it take Washington coming in from the outside to ensure that this person who is defrauding you is going to go to prison?" Great question, JD. Where was Maine's state government while $15 million in Medicaid money was walking out the door? Where were the auditors? Where were the fraud investigators? Nowhere. Doing nothing. Collecting their own government paychecks while the taxpayers got robbed blind.

Vance also took the opportunity to drop a little common sense that would get you banned from every faculty lounge in America. "People should be speaking English in the United States of America. I think that's common sense," he said. Radical stuff, apparently. In 2026, saying people in America should speak the language of America is basically a hate crime on a college campus.

The Vice President didn't stop at diagnosing the problem. He delivered the verdict too. "Convicted, guilty, and she's going to jail," Vance said of Mohammed. Music to the ears of every taxpayer in Maine who just found out their state was running a $15 million charity for a fraudster.

"Call me crazy, but I think that when we welcome new immigrants to the United States of America, they should be people who enrich our country," Vance added. "Not a person who's going to steal $15 million from the people in this room." You're not crazy, JD. You're the only one in Washington who seems willing to say it out loud.

This is the pattern. Every single time someone pulls back the curtain on the immigration-to-benefits pipeline, the numbers are staggering. It's never a few hundred bucks. It's millions. It's entire systems designed with so little oversight that a single person can drain them for half a decade without anyone noticing. And the people who built those systems — the open-borders crowd, the "no human is illegal" bumper-sticker brigade — they never have to answer for it. Your wallet does.

At least now someone's handing you the receipt.
