Democrat Rep Caught on Hot Mic Mocking the Very LGBT Crowd He Was There to Pander To

Massachusetts State Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis — an openly gay Democrat who represents the 7th Middlesex District — was caught on a hot mic at a Pride Month celebration making mocking remarks about the very LGBT people he was there to champion. State Sen. John Moran was right there with him, the two of them yukking it up behind the podium at the Massachusetts State House steps while the mic was live and recording everything.

But sure, these people totally care about you. They showed up with their rainbow pins, stood behind the podium, and immediately started treating the attendees like a punchline.

Here's what happened. The audio technician had already turned on the podium microphone, but Lewis and Moran apparently didn't get the memo. Minutes before the event kicked off, they were caught chatting about the people in Rep. Lewis' phone contacts — and the names he'd saved them under were, shall we say, revealing. Lewis was overheard discussing how he labels people in his contacts as "lady guy," "gay guy," and "dog guy." He reportedly told his fellow Congressman, "I don't even ever program their real names," referring to his conquests in the LGBT community.

This is the same guy who was honored with the Trans Community Ally Award in 2023. A guy endorsed by the LGBTQ Victory Fund. A guy who literally lives in Framingham with his husband and children and has built his entire political career on being the champion of this community.

And behind the podium, when he thinks nobody's listening? You're "lady guy" in his phone.

But it gets better. Lewis and Moran weren't just reducing constituents to crude labels — they were also caught disparaging a fellow lawmaker during the same hot mic moment. The Lowell Sun and the Boston Herald both reported that the two were making "off-color remarks" about a colleague while standing at the Pride event, which is exactly the kind of professionalism we've come to expect from Democrats.

This is what pandering looks like when the mask slips. These politicians don't see a community. They see a photo op. They see a voting bloc they need to keep on the leash just long enough to get through the next election cycle. Then they stand behind the podium before the event starts and laugh about the people they've reduced to joke entries in their cell phones.

The clip is circulating everywhere now, and it should. Because this is the Democratic Party in a nutshell — not the party of inclusion, but the party of performance. They'll wave your flag, march in your parade, and then snicker about you the second they think the mic is off.

Jack Patrick Lewis has been in office since January 4, 2017. That's nearly a decade of "allyship" that apparently amounted to saving people under dehumanizing nicknames and cracking jokes at a Pride event. Every single voter in Ashland and Framingham who put this guy in office deserves to hear that audio.

They don't care about you. They never did. And now there's tape.
