Former DNC Fundraiser's Tell-All Book Will Name Every Democrat Who Knew Biden was Cognitively Impaired

Lindy Li raised millions for the Democratic National Committee. She attended the dinners, worked the phones, and watched the party's most powerful people operate behind closed doors during the 2024 election cycle. Now she's writing a book called Unburdened, and it's going to name names.

Specifically, the names of every Democratic Party elite who knew Joe Biden's cognitive decline was real — and pretended otherwise.

Li, who has since left the Democratic Party entirely, said that the public-facing defense of Biden's mental fitness was a coordinated act. "Whatever was out there, it wasn't the truth," she said. "They wanted him to go, and also in my book, I will be telling people exactly who was aware of Biden's cognitive decline but pretended otherwise."

That's a former insider, on the record, confirming what sixty million voters could see with their own eyes during the 2024 debate: the emperor had no clothes, and his court knew it.

Li singled out California Senator Adam Schiff as one of the behind-the-scenes operators. "I remember getting a text from Schiff," she said. "Behind the scenes he very much wanted him to go." Publicly, of course, Schiff didn't call on Biden to step aside until July 2024 — after the debate performance made silence untenable. His spokesperson responded by noting that public statement, as though the timeline somehow helps his case.

It doesn't. The question was never whether Schiff eventually said something. It's how long he and others sat on what they knew while telling donors and voters that Biden was sharp as a tack.

Li's explanation for the silence is straightforward self-interest. "They didn't want to get ostracized by the party," she said. "Everyone would have missed." She claims multiple Democratic candidates — including figures like Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, and Gretchen Whitmer — privately polled themselves against Biden. "It wasn't a matter so much of anti-Trumpism," Li said. "It was self-interest."

So the party that spent four years lecturing us about threats to democracy was running internal polling on how to replace its own sitting president while publicly insisting he was fit to serve. Democracy dies in darkness, and apparently the darkness was coming from inside the DNC.

When the switch finally happened, Li says the party landed on the worst possible option. "She was the weakest candidate in the field," Li said of Vice President Kamala Harris. Li claims to have polling data from right before Harris's ascension that compared her unfavorably against other Democratic figures. The party chose her anyway — not because she was strong, but because Biden's decades of loyalty, including his bond with allies like James Clyburn, made the handoff path of least resistance.

The Democratic Party today, in Li's assessment, is in "shambles" and "completely rudderless." That tracks. When your organizational principle is "protect the brand at all costs," eventually the costs come due. The brand was a man who couldn't finish a sentence at a debate podium, and the protectors were senators and fundraisers and strategists who valued their standing over their honesty.

Li raised their money, attended their events, and believed their pitch. Now she's writing the receipt.

The book is called Unburdened. Given what the party did to the voters who trusted them, that title could go either way.
