Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Matagorda, TX at 5:37 a.m. on July 8. Ten days later, hundreds of thousands of Texans are still without power. Gov. Gregg Abbott is demanding answers from the power companies—specifically CenterPoint Energy—as to why they can’t seem to get the electricity back on in a timely fashion after extreme weather events. As of this past Monday, 289,000 households were still powerless and 90% of them were CenterPoint customers.
Gov. Abbott called power outages of this length “unacceptable” during a July 14 press conference. He threw down a gauntlet, telling CenterPoint it has until the end of July to come up withspecific plans to keep the power on during severe weather events. If CenterPoint fails to comply, Abbott threatens to impose actions on the company to keep the power on through an executive order.
CenterPoint, to its credit, had restored power to 1.9 million homes in the Greater Houston area. The company says the additional customers are difficult to restore power to because the hurricane knocked transmission lines down by blowing branches and trees into them.
Abbott’s threats, which reek of European-style fascism, are enough to make you feel sympathy for CenterPoint Energy. After all, it’s not CenterPoint’s fault that Texas has such a terrible power grid. It’s because of elected officials like former Gov. Rick Perry and current Gov. Gregg Abbott!
Texas is sitting on top of the largest recoverable oil and natural gas reserves in the United States, other than Alaska. Everyone’s monthly energy bill in Texas should be around $20 a month. Texans should ask themselves why that’s not the case.
The answer, of course, is that Gov. Gregg Abbott and previous politicians have fully bought into the globalist climate alarmism agenda. Clean-burning coal and natural gas, which can deliver electricity underground (and completely not at risk from hurricanes), should be powering most of the state.
Instead, 28.6% of the power in Texas is generated from Made in China windmills. That’s more than the total energy output that Texas receives from nuclear and coal-fired power. Abbott brags that Texas has more windmills than any other state, with 15,300 wind turbines. When all the windmills all froze in February 2021 and stopped working, 250 people died because they didn’thave any heat in their homes.
A whopping 36.1% of power in Texas is derived from Made in China solar panels. The governor’s office also brags about this. See if you can solve a big mystery with us. What does not work AT ALL when a cloudy hurricane rolls through your state? We’llwait for your answer. Take your time. It’s not a trick question.
You got it right! Solar panels don’t work when it’s dark or cloudy outside. Perhaps that’s part of the reason why CenterPoint is struggling to restore the power to hundreds of thousands of Texans. How much damage did the storm do to solar panels in the state?
Gov. Abbott’s office brags that the state derives more energy from solar panels than California. What an odd coincidence that the power grid in Texas seems to be even worse than California’s!
Not to worry, though. Gregg Abbott is on top of this. He never misses a meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where the number one concern is the fake and nonexistent problem of global warming. Gregg Abbott is fixing the weather in Texas with all the solar panels and windmills from China that he’s installed, instead of relying on the cheap and renewable energy under the ground in his state.
Rest easy, Texas! You’re solving the fake problem of global warming! It’s just too bad that your state can’t keep the lights and A/C on for some reason. Have you tried eating bugs to make yourself feel better?
