Conservative filmmaker and commentator Robby Starbuck has been on a tear this year when it comes to exposing the hidden “woke” agendas being perpetrated by American corporations. You would think that companies that have their entire customer base in traditional red states would be immune to the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) cancer, but they’re not. They’re just as concerned about their “social credit score” as Harvard and Columbia. John Deere & Co. has just walked back many of its woke corporative initiatives after Starbuck sparked a boycott of the company.
Starbuck first exposed Tractor Supply this spring. The company was sponsoring pride parades, forcing white employees to sit through communist struggle sessions to learn how inherently evil they were, and hiring people based on qualities that had nothing to do with competence. Tractor Supply’s stock lost more than a billion dollars in share value when the traditional Americans who shop there discovered all the woke garbage it was funding.
The Tractor Supply board of directors took swift and decisive action in June. They fired every diversity hire, stopped funding causes like mutilating kids and global warming (which is fake), and put a full stop to every single DEI initiative. The company also issued a heartfelt apology to its customers and promised to go back to focusing on selling American-made products and supporting only issues that are important to rural Americans.
It was the most crushing defeat of corporate woke DEI policies that we’ve seen to date. Bud Light still hasn’t recovered from its transgender stunt. Sales continue to drop and it’s now the number three-selling beer in America.
Anyway, Starbuck uncovered the fact that John Deere is funding the same woke garbage as Tractor Supply was, and customers were none too happy. What these corporate leaders fail to understand is that absolutely no one outside of coastal America gives a flying rat’s rear end about DEI or fake global warming. They certainly don’t support any initiative that involves sexually mutilating a child for the trans agenda.
The corporation might get a sticker from the globalists for funding this nonsense, but red-state Americans aren’t having it. You don’t get to take our money and then spit on our values and destroy the country that our ancestors built. Period.
After customers started a furious boycott of John Deere, it didn’t take long for the board of directors to step in and reverse course. The company has promised to stop funding gay parades. Its business resource groups will no longer be divided up based on skin color or the weird sex lives of their employees. All the company’s training materials will be audited to remove socially motivated messages. John Deere will also eliminate diversity hiring quotas and will no longer force employees to use pronouns.
That’s a start, although, at the end of the announcement of these changes, the company stated that it “fundamentally believes that a diverse workforce enables us to best meet our customers’ needs.”
No, it doesn’t. Mentally healthy people do not care if you have a diverse workforce. We expect companies to have a competent workforce that can deliver the products and services we want. Is it too much to ask that companies that build airplanes could try to keep the wheels from falling off, instead of trying to have a diverse workforce? Or that corporations that sell tractors could not use our money to fund a movement that wants to destroy all family farms to save us from a fake problem with the weather?
