What is it about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) that seems to draw the crazies out of the woodwork? A crazy “suspected” arsonist who might actually be one of Joe Biden’s illegal aliens set Sanders’ Vermont office on fire on Friday, trapping all of Bernie’s staffers inside the building on the third floor. The only reason the staffers survived was because the building’s sprinkler system doused the flames. The incident sparked a manhunt in Burlington, VT, and the suspect was finally caught on Sunday.

Police say that on Friday, a man named Shant Soghomonian walked into a three-story office building in Burlington. Sanders’ local office is on the third floor. Soghomonian was caught on surveillance video walking up to the third floor, where he stepped inside the vestibule of Sanders’ office. He was then seen spraying an accelerant on the door before setting it on fire with a lighter. He then shut the door and fled down the stairs.

Bernie’s Vermont staffers were trapped in the office since the burning door was the only exit. Bernie was in Los Angeles at the time, giving a speech to some communist labor union that was on strike.

“A significant fire engulfed the door and part of the vestibule, impeding the egress of staff members who were working in the office and endangering their lives,” said the Burlington police.

The sprinkler system doused the flames and flooded the lower floors of the building significantly. Fortunately, no one was injured in the bizarre attack.

“The door to the Senator’s office sustained moderate fire damage, and the third floor and floors below sustained significant water damage,” said the Burlington Fire Department.

This isn’t the first time that a murderous, crazy person has been in Bernie Sanders’ orbit. Back in 2017, a crazed “Bernie Bro” named James Hodgkinson tried to assassinate several people at a baseball practice for the Republican congressional team in Alexandria, VA. He had driven from Illinois for the express purpose of assassinating President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Before driving across the country, he announced his intention in an update to a Change.org petition online:

“Trump is a Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co.”

Hodgkinson gravely wounded Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), along with a congressional aide, a lobbyist, and a US Capitol Police officer. He was then killed after a 10-minute gun battle with the cops. The Virginia Attorney General ultimately concluded that Hodgkinson’s attack was “an act of terrorism … fueled by rage against Republican legislators.”

Shant Soghomonian, the man accused of setting Bernie’s office on fire, has been arrested and charged with arson. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Soghomonian is an Armenian name, but it is unknown at this time whether he was in the country legally or not. The Justice Department and the Burlington police haven’t commented on Soghomonian’s immigration status because they wouldn’t want to hurt the feelings of an accused arsonist who allegedly tried to kill the staffers of a US Senator.
